Why Should You Choose Carolina Timber Consulting?

This is a very complex industry. Within each tract of timber, there are multiple species of trees. Each is prized for it's own properties and end uses, and each species has it's own specific markets. We are MARKET CONSULTANTS and NOT Forestry Consultants. Growing trees and selling tree products are NOT the same. Colleges and Universities train students to GROW (not market) healthy trees; But there is only one way to know how it really works on the inside and that is to BE an INSIDER! For years the sealed bid method has been thought to be the "safest way" to sell, but it is most often far from the most profitable way... that makes it pretty "unsafe" in reality!  So unless you have been on the "inside" it is impossible to know how the real marketing process works.  Here is a secret: Timber Buyers I know do not consider a licensed Forestry Consultant an "insider" unless he or she has years of actual insider experience buying, logging, milling, or other inside the industry work.  

     I have worked for and owned a sawmill, owned a large logging operation buying  timber from landowners and on sealed bids; and even run a residential tree business where we removed and sold logs.  I am an "insider" in most every way.   My original experience and university education was in business and marketing. I brought that training into the timber industry.  We are professional in every way. 

You will have to trust SOMEONE in this business.

WE ARE NOT TIMBER BUYERS!

There is NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST by hiring us as your consulting firm!  We believe it is in the timber owner's best interest to have someone who knows the business 100% on their side.  In a timber sale of any kind, the buyer and seller will each sit on a different side of the table.  As your representative, we will be sitting on your side.  The buyer will be dealing with us; not a person who has virtually no idea if the deal is good or bad.  If a timber sale is needed and the owner is ready, Carolina Timber Consulting is on your side of the table working to get you the best possible deal for your trees.
